The Local Transitions Learning Centre is an initiative by Energy Cities aimed at providing free, high-quality learning opportunities tailored to municipal leaders' and public servants' needs and ambitions across Europe. It focuses on strengthening resilience and accelerating just and green transitions in European towns, cities and regions.
To create an account, click on “Register” at the top right of the homepage (“person” icon). Review our Terms of Use, accept them and create your profile adding your information.

If you have lost your password you can obtain a new one by click on the icon "locker" in the top right corner that will lead you to the login page. There, under the boxes for "Username" and "Password" click on "forgot your username or password?".
At the end of the process you will receive an e-mail with the instructions to follow. If you do not see the e-mail check the spam, just in case.
Here some instructions on how to do it:

1_ go to your “profile”
2_ go to “preferences”

3_ go to “edit profile”

4_ Modify “description” for your bio note
Step 5
5_ add your profile picture in “new picture”
The courses are designed for local government officials, municipal staff, and other stakeholders involved in urban planning, sustainability, and community development. Nevertheless, they are also open to the wider public interested in our topics.
Courses encompass a range of topics including climate planning, governance, fossil-free districts, community energy, sustainable food systems, and resource-wise economies.
Yes, all courses offered through the Local Transitions Learning Centre are free and open-access.
Currently, most courses are in English, and many courses are also available in multiple languages. You can check on the course page which language is available.
We offer a dynamic mix of interactive online content. Some courses include live expert-led sessions and peer-to-peer exchanges. The courses are designed to fit various learning styles and contexts. Our online courses go from micro-learnings, lasting less than one hour, to more structured courses lasting 10 or more hours.
Yes, upon completing all activities and successfully passing the knowledge tests associated with each course, participants receive a certificate from Energy Cities.

Yes, you can start a course, pause at any time, and return to it later. Your progress is saved automatically, so you can pick up right where you left off. You just need to complete the different activities during the course duration.
Yes. Each course has a duration, and you can find on the course description page the timeframe it will be running. You have to complete all activities during this timeframe, which usually lasts a couple of months.
Exchange of knowledge is key for us. This is why all courses include a forum that allows you to get in touch with learners and trainers. There you can post questions, share ideas, and connect with fellow learners and trainers. Some courses also feature live sessions or community spaces for real-time interaction.
Yes, the Energy Cities Transition Leaders Programme includes different in-person opportunities such as thematic workshops, summer and winter schools, site visits and conferences. To be updated on these opportunities, register to our newsletter and consider becoming a member.
