Povzetek predmeta

Welcome to the virtual space for SPARKLE's “Fair Economies” pillar. This space is a living laboratory where European Local Authorities come together to learn and exchange with peers on how to integrate circular economy principles into their local climate plans. This space also collects several materials to guide your communities towards a fair and inclusive transition.

You'll find:

  • Resource Library
  • Micro‑Learning Modules
  • Live Peer‑to‑Peer Sessions

You can engage with the other participants in the Forum.

What you'll learn

  • Through the library, you will gain insights into how waste prevention and resource efficiency can support climate action at the local level. The resources explain the climate impact of different waste streams and demonstrate why prevention, reuse, and circular strategies often deliver greater environmental benefits than traditional recycling alone. You will also learn about practical policy tools, such as Pay-As-You-Throw systems, deposit refund schemes, and strategies to reduce household food waste, as well as emerging approaches to textile waste management in Europe. Finally, the materials introduce the concept of sufficiency in the built environment, showing how housing policies, consumption patterns, and lifestyle choices can help reduce emissions while improving affordability, wellbeing, and resource use.
  • The platform will also be the space to collect the recordings of peer-to-peer exchanges involving all the Local and Regional Authorities that are following this SPARKLE pillar.

Requirements

  • To enrol in the Fair Economies pillar you need to be part of the SPARKLE learning community.
